Sauna, cold plunge, tea and a room to talk in. HAUS brings a new ritual to Colonia San Antonio.
A new type of wellness space has opened their doors in San Miguel.
Introducing HAUS WELLNESS, tucked beside Panina and just off Sterling Dickinson, quietly positioning itself within the rhythm of Colonia San Antonio. From the outside it feels understated. Step inside and it becomes clear this is not simply another opening. It is a shift in pace.
This is not a spa built around indulgence. It is a house built around ritual.
San Miguel has always carried a certain current, creatives building beside each other, studios opening next to cafés, conversations moving from yoga mats to long tables. Haus feels born from that same current. It does not try to stand apart from the community. It folds into it.
The space was created by Jessi Tichenor, who after years working in music management found herself approaching burnout and craving a different tempo. Opening a wellness house had lived quietly in her mind for nearly a decade.
When she arrived in San Miguel, she felt what so many who relocate here describe, an immediate sense of belonging. HAUS became her way of rooting into that feeling and contributing something meaningful in return. Not a retreat from the city, but a rhythm within it.

Upstairs, the terrace holds the elemental core of the experience.
A sauna large enough for a small gathering. Two cold plunges waiting in contrast. Showers. Open sky. Hills stretching beyond the edge of the terrace.
Each session is offered in sixty minute increments, yet within that hour there is no rigid choreography. Guests move between sauna and cold plunge as many times as they wish. SWEAT x PLUNGE X REPEAT. The terrace invites pause between cycles, a place to let the nervous system settle while sunlight warms the skin.
There are three ways to move through the hour.
Silent Hour creates space for restoration, with minimal conversation and a subtle ambient soundtrack.
Guided Hour anchors the practice through breath, offering an audio led entry point before guests intuitively continue through the circuit.
Social Hour shifts the tone, allowing for connection, conversation and a collective sense of release.
The benefits of contrast therapy are well known, improved circulation, reduced inflammation, support for nervous system regulation and mental clarity. Sauna heat encourages detoxification and muscular release. Cold immersion sharpens awareness and builds resilience. Alternating between the two invites the body back into balance.
At HAUS, it feels less clinical and more elemental. Fire. Water. Air. Earth. A remembering.
Downstairs, TEA HAUS grounds the experience.
HAUS has slowly been crafting it’s own signature line of tea blends, alongside an introduction to what will become an interactive tea encyclopedia as the space expands and finds rooting here in San Miguel. Drawing on traditions that trace back to ancient China where tea was cultivated as both medicine and meditation. The daily offerings evolve with the seasons, adaptogenic herbs, calming florals, warming roots and awakening leaves selected to align with the body’s rhythms.
Sourced from small, ethical growers who prioritize regenerative practices and transparency of origin, each cup extends the ritual beyond heat and cold. Rich in plant compounds and polyphenols, tea supports cardiovascular health, digestion and cognitive clarity. Yet beyond the science, it offers something quieter. A pause. A moment to recalibrate.
What begins as a simple pour becomes ceremony.
Within TEA HAUS breathes the trinity of the concept and the hearth of all – SANGHA HAUS, a sanctuary for communal activation.
Workshops, dialogues and gatherings will unfold here, exploring growth through shared experience. The belief is simple, transformation deepens in connection. In a city where collaboration shapes culture, this space feels like a continuation of an existing conversation.
HAUS sits steps from SMA Pilates, Essencía Yoga and Wolf Gym. It lives beside Panina and in the middle of the creative pulse of San Antonio.
It feels intentionally placed. A post workout reset. A mid morning immersion. A terrace pause between movement and conversation.
To mark its arrival, HAUS is offering 100 Founding Memberships alongside an early offering for new guests to experience 3 x 2 sessions for those who want to experience the ritual together as well as those who would like to explore the space and circuit while naturally ingraining it into their routine.
HAUS is now open.
There will be activations and special workshops in the space next week, starting April 1st, while hosting Dr. Kari Quinn (Baltimore, MD) for the first of many residencies HAUS will be hosting.
Dr. Kari Quinn is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine specializing in women’s health, nervous system regulation, and sports orthopedics. Her work bridges the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine with modern understandings of the nervous system and emotional healing.
Through acupuncture, somatic practices, and herbal wisdom, she helps people regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with their bodies, and restore balance from the inside out.
Follow them on Instagram for updates, or simply step inside and feel the shift for yourself.
