Cena Negra XV: Traditional Funerals
Día de Muertos in San Miguel is a season of tables set for the absent. Marigold on the banqueta, pan de muerto in every window, candles left burning past midnight. For fifteen years, one of those tables has been dressed in black. Cena Negra returns to Hotel Matilda on 1 November with Rodrigo Rivera-Río at the stove, founder of KOLI Cocina de Origen in Monterrey, a kitchen with one MICHELIN Star. This 15th edition is built around traditional funerals and a single question: what remains when presence becomes memory? San Miguel artist Jesús Valenzuela shapes the room and the visual story of the night, and Coco Zaragoza plays live through dinner. Open to hotel guests and visitors. A dinner for the ones who are gone, and for what they leave at the table.
