Miller Icons Painting Workshops
Mary Jane Miller is an internationally recognized Byzantine-style iconographer, author, and teacher based in San Miguel de Allende. For more than 30 years, she has dedicated her practice to the ancient art of icon painting, working with traditional materials of egg tempera, gold leaf, hand-tooled pewter, and earth pigments. Her work moves between devotion, visual meditation, and contemporary spiritual storytelling, with a particular focus on biblical women, saints, mystics, and the voices historically left out of sacred art. From her studio in San Miguel, Miller creates, teaches, and opens the world of iconography to both artists and beginners through workshops, her many publications, and by-appointment visits. Her practice is rooted in prayer, symbolism, and the belief that sacred image-making can become a form of reflection, transformation, and inner seeing. Peace on the planet
